Nice Cool Bath
2LT David Ford
Have you started a new diet? Perhaps with that new diet you also added some more physical activity. Has your body been a little more sore than usual? If this sounds like you, have you tried a cold bath? A cold bath may be what you need to help you recover from the physical stress that you are putting on your body.
Many professional athletes use this technique to help them recover from the week’s stress before the big game. This technique is also very helpful after the big game or competition you have trained so long for.
I have some good links covering this technique but what I have done in the past is this: Fill your bath tub, tank, whatever you have that will hold water. Fill it to the point that it covers your waist line. You then apply ice. You want the temperature to be around 50-55 degrees Fahrenheit. Now all you have to do is sit in it for 8-10 minutes. After this I hope you feel rejuvenated and are able to keep working on your fitness goals.
